A partnership of founder companies was established to take the project forward. These founders included Trade Partners UK, Government of the Hong Kong SAR, CLP Power Hong Kong Limited, Gammon Skanska Limited, Hong Kong Housing Authority, Hong Kong Housing Society, INTEGER Intelligent & Green Limited, Swire Properties Limited and The Hong Kong Jockey Club. Between them, these founders raised some HK$40 million to allow construction of one of the most innovative buildings in the world to commence in January 2001. Construction of the INTEGER Hong Kong Pavilion took place over the following ten months, and at the beginning of November 2001 the completed building was opened on the historic Tamar Basin site by Tung Che Hwa, Chief Executive of Hong Kong SAR and by Richard Caborn MP, Minister of State at the UK Government Department of Trade & Industry. The Pavilion stayed open until 31 December 2002, and was used as the focal point for and extensive research, education and communications programme showcasing the best intelligent and green buildings in the world. Over 100,000 visitors came to the Pavilion including around 30,000 schoolchildren, demonstrating the appeal and impact of intelligent & green technologies to society. |

The INTEGER Hong Kong Pavilion was designed in such a way that it could be dismounted, transported and re-assembled on another site. After the closure of the Pavilion in Hong Kong at the end of 2002, it was transported to the Central Business District in Beijing where it has been re-assembled as a Sustainable Energy Exhibition Centre and opened to visitors in the first quarter of 2004 To find out more about INTEGER's work in Hong Kong, and
